(short version in english below)
// update - äiti sanoi, että allaolevassa tekstissä on paljon aukkoja, joten paikkailin niitä hieman ja yritin saada muutoksesta helpommin ymmärrettävää.
Ei postia enää osoitteeseen Via Montà! Muutin, enkä pysty postittamaan uutta osoitettani kaikille.
Minä en kyllä tajua mistä tilanteesta on kyse.
Siinä on kyllä yksi taivaanlahja.
Tuomo, Fredi, Mauro, Marco... <3
Äiti, isi ja Jussi. Aina siellä<3 Sen tietäminen on jo tarpeeksi.

No mail to the old address Via Montà anymore! I moved and I cannot post my new address to everyone. I will write an e-mail to everyone that I have e-mail addresses from, as soon as the situation allows it!
I moved out yesterday due to a situation and a boost to the decision. Packed and moved out and moved in within one day. I'm happier. I'll be even more when this whole process is over with.
I'm lacking words for the gratefulness I have of all the help and support I have got. Giorgio has everyday had the energy to calm me down and talk for me, fight for me. Päivi has almost also physically kept me standing all the time and listened and helped. Giulia and Camilla were both very flexible and understanding about the situation. Johannes was always there to talk to and helping with moving. Marica and Giada. Then there is so many other people who have just made me feel better, just by being there and being interested, caring.. Tuomo, Fredi, Mauro, Marco, Simona, Hanna.. <3
Mom, dad and Jussi. Always there <3 Just knowing that is enough.

Kun puhun ihmisille kuten Dino, he saavat minut tuntemaan itseni eläväksi.
Inspiroiduin ottamaan asiasta selvää kun näin Bedford Diariesin jakson The Passion of the Beaver (nähtävissä youtubessa).
Being defeated is only a temporary condition; giving up is what makes it permanent.

What is a Passion? It can be an object, person or something fictional like memories, fables, plans or an activity. These things become a passion if one likes it very much even so much that he can do it all day long. He probably will loose the sense of time and won't regret spending hours, days or even more time following his passion. You still don't have to do it all the time and spend all your time in it. Another sign for a passion is that he may develop feelings for it.
A passion can be for a part of a person. Abstract or concrete. Passion is something particular. Passion is a carrot, something that makes life worth living.
There is not necessarily difference between passion and love. But generally passion is more selfish. In passion one will try to avoid dealing with bad sides. In love it doesn't matter if there is bad sides. Which one, passion or love, comes first depends on the person. Love can be stronger where passion can be pushed back. Passion is a need and you can put them in order saying which of them is most needed. Both passion and love can have an end, because of an impact.

Strange goals, strange people, strange habits, strange standards.
Three things. One neutral, two positive and one negative.
Neutral. I must've been stupid to take this kind of reading job. My god. I decided to make in a shorter time that I first thought, 2 days to go, so I have to get this finished by Wednesday. At this time of the night, it's tomorrow. I'm now on the page 221 of the 349 paged book. That means about 65 pages per day. I'm now behind on writing down the underlines about 50 pages. GREAT! However the lovely thing is that this kind fo activation obviously brings my senses and creativity back. I've done a cartoonish painting and heard and realized suddenly so much more of what's going on around me.
Positive. I realized due to some events happened lately within some friends, that what I like in italians - most of them at least, even if some may consider it as dishonesty and fakery - is that they can get along with anyone and put their happy face on even when they don't really like someone. You can always be nice, you don't have to like everyone. They usually don't give people unnecessary attitude, though they love rumours and gossip.
Positive. I went to Banale yesterday after studying intensively for 4 days. It was really refreshing and I noticed a change in me from the time before Christmas. So the result of the evening was much more satisfying that before. New friends, phonenumbers and meetings afterwards :) What can I, I can't blame the people not wanting to spend time with me so much before... who would want to spend time with a bitter lemon lady? :)
Negative. This comes together in a talk I had with Dino today:
Milla: when you were in exchange, did you notice that many people would've cheated on their boyfriend/girlfriends while being there?
Dino: ...
Dino: yes
Dino: a lot
Dino: the most
Dino: everyone
Dino: :D
Dino: no, not everyone but as i know a lot
Milla: umf.. i feel like a freak here, because i'm not doing something morally unaccepted. people.. strange. me... does not understand.
Dino: so, i know kissing was something which really a lot did but not everybody did more I think
Milla: here too. more over.. i don't want to know.
Milla: i'm still shocked. i saw so many people knowing they have boyfriend/girlfriends at home, that i thought were really responsible people, kissing someone.
Milla: i hope my moral standards are still fine when i come back from here. :P

She left,
First I thought that I just got myself back, but in the end... even Fish Market, just ended up being the same old shit after the one and only dance partner left.
So Laura left today.
I'm so tired too. So much travelling within 3 weeks. Parties, new people, shopping till dropping, food, movies, staying up late... hmm and probably the only thing that separates this from before (which sounds exactly the same) is the company. I actually got to be me for that time. I could be cranky when I'm cranky, look horrible, be happy, be dancing strangely, talk in public things I would never talk in public among people who understand the language. And today, the last day of her stay, I could say at the airport, without wearing any make-up, wearing a hat because of my bad hair day, every possible pattern and color mixed up, with my baggiest jeans, that I felt confident. It was a high peak for me :)

Ne kävi täällä <3
Iskä, äiti ja Jussi oli täällä. Autoiltiin ympäriinsä vaikka missä. Käytiin kattelemassa hiukan harmaita maisemia Eugenian kukkuloilla, jossa oli paljon viinitarhoja ja illalla sitte juotiin näiden kukkuloiden viintäkin melkein epähuomiossa. Käytiin Trevisossa päivän verran. Vietettiin jotain päiviä vaan Padovan ankeudessa.
Huomasin kaks juttua erityisesti.
Juttu 1.
(Laura)

Being an optimist,
Background: Jacek is a polish boy who was also last spring (2007) in exchange in my University in Finland.
Jacko: I thought that You are happy girl
Jacko: without problems
So did I.
A bit later talking about finishing his studies:
Jacko: i have to do a lot of stuff. it ll be different but maybe even better.
Jacko: work can be nice
Milla: you are really being optimistic :)
Jacko: I have to be if not I won't have enough energy
Milla: but optimism is always very good
Milla: makes life more enjoyable
Jacko: more easy
Jacko: I hope that allways I ll have such a way of living
Jacko: lets see it won't be easy
Definitely not. I'm surely an optimist and all the time here, I'm waiting for the better time to come. Now I'm waiting for the storm to calm down and the sun coming out. What is different here is that I never waited back home, I made the storm calm down for myself and I made my living happy. Of course it's easier to do when you have all the right people around you. The people that you really click with and it is not easy to get there. Moving to Vantaa, it took something between a half a year and a year to get to the people. But still, I can do it to myself. At least for a small while... everyday or at least every other.

2 days - soon just A day.
I'm very tired. I still have to pack... or more correctly, I have to take out stuff. Right now, all of it weighs according to our scale - 33 kilos. My limit is 20. Every over-weight kilo costs 10 euros. So that is 130 euros already -___- Maybe I'll just look very cute and hope there's a nice man behind the desk.
Today, I went to the bank to settle the rest of the paper war... oh I love byrochracy. I also met Antonella on Wednesday and she told me so much useful info of Italy. Many times I've thought myself as a really lucky girl to have so many people around me to get help from. Just think about it all my stuff is storaged in my friends', Laura's and Suvi's, cellar closet, my dad has arranged me all the computer stuff I need and a wireless modem for the house and the soon-to-be internet. Antonella has given me very useful information of all the practical things and answered all my questions I had. Marco (from ESN Padova) and Mara (tutor in the Uni) have answered all my questions on the case of single courses and helped me. Franca and Anna arranged the house and... Anna has done so much for me and helped me. She's like my personal tutor<3 Walter talking to me and being so sweet in general. Siru calling me every day at least twice. Oh and Laura<3
I have a huge piece of my heart going for you!
I should study italian a little. I haven't touched the books for over a month now... and I'm not interested. Not even a bit. I should. I have to take a test for my italian and HOPE I get a place. It's strange that they give all the places to Erasmus people who haven't paid for the courses like I have and I still go last. Phew... stupid (and stressing).

Emotion storm for farewell,
Suomeksi
Warning, the up-coming text is made within a major emotion storm.
On Fri evening was the shadow fresher's party (a starting party for the first year students). The whole weekend I've been repeating the same thing to my new roomie here in Vantaa of how sad I'm to go away from these people. She said that it's easily noticable that the group has spent time (and experienced) a lot together. We danced in those mosh-pit-kind-of-things in Pinkku (a bar in Tikkurila), danced letkajenkka and sandwich dance with at least ten people :) According to Saara, my new roomie, we danced some weird pervert dance. In the morning Suvi and I were wondering what the hell that means: "Probably something to do with us dancing so close.. so finnish." :P
Today I'm still in a shock of what happened yesterday (on Sat). I've never felt I'd actually deserve something like this and I've never got something like this.
Small group was suppose to go to salsa with the spanish exchangies and so we did. I agreed with Laura to see her before and start the night together by relaxing. I was a bit stale and thinking: "okay... first food and then watch a nice movie, because I'm feeling like this." Laura opened the door: "Heyy" and straight without taking a breath in between "you look tired!" I wondered out loud that she had hardly seen me and she's already saying that... I cannot remember what we talked after that or did we talk at all. I put my bag down and took shoes off - and suddenly 800% unexpected visitors come out of the bedroom. "Aaaaa... surrprise!" Oh no oh no. "You didn't :D"
From Minna, Fatsku and Paula, I got a card, which had a lovely little pearlheart inside of it and it wished angels for my journey, emergency buttons and a sign saying: Teeny tiny guarding angel will be with you. From Suvi and Laura I got a big Karhu-design blue and white bag, which can fit a laptop (!!!) and there was peasoup inside and Fazer chocolate and salmiakki in every possible form. I didn't know how to react to everything in such a short time. Did I even say thank you!

Oh I've never ever had such a lovely surprise. Later they told me things like how they had planned it for over a month and how I didn't get little slips that people had made. I was and I AM very greatful.. and in shock. I sat in the sofa after I'd hug everything and wondered aloud: "Oh no, I wasn't prepared to be social." :D Laura, Suvi, Siru, Kimmo, Miika, Juha, Paula, Fatsku ja Minna <3
Later in the evening we did go salsa and to Zetor to introduce underlined finnish attitude. I got to dance salsa with Julio, David, Yoli and Suvi, dance on the benches and sing my voice down - I had a wonderful night. Absolutely wonderful.
Siru said today on the phone perkele, we just got to know and now you're leaving already.
I think it's lovingly torturing that there's so many great people staying here. Also the up-coming (and already a bit being) longing is lovingly torturing. The supposedly philosophic conversations with Miika, oh dear with Siru, dancing with Fatsku... Don't ever think that I didn't notice and appreciate every one of you. You've saved me with your own personally interesting ways from my own personally interesting brain farts. I believe I wouldn't even be in this school without you - I wouldn't go to exchange without you. I won't. You'll stay with me.
Today is 7 days until my move-out from Vantaa and 14 days until my move-out from Finland.
And I'm still not totally recovered from the surprise farewell party yesterday. Loveliest thought<3

Niinhän me mentiinkin.

Ootte pelastanut mut omilla persoonallisen mielenkiintoisilla tavoillanne mun omilta persoonallisen mielenkiintoisilta aivopieruilta. En varmasti olisi edes tässä koulussa enää ilman teitä - enkä varmasti lähtisi vaihtoon ilman teitä. En lähdekään. Mukana pysytte.
Suloisin ajatus<3

FEVER with Frank, Sirpa, Siru, Remon (and the spanish people).

Today I caught myself smiling again at something happened during the last few days. Yesterday, I met Tarja to get some of her leftover boxes. During a conversation while we were sitting in her house, she said something like: "But surely you will get lots of friends in Italy." I'm sure of that, but just now I'm realizing how many great friends I have here. Siru and I talked just a while ago about the friends we had in high school. Neither of us, feel we have anything in common with them anymore. There is only very few people who I've managed to stay closer friends with. Sometimes when I see some of the highschool friends in Turku and I keep thinking how did I ever managed to be their friend. We had absolutely nothing in common (except for school). There is still few great friends I've kept from Raisio/Turku.
The Wednesday that I spent in Raisio was Jussi's birthday party. I was doing some stuff in the internet and writing to my blog as I didn't have much to do during the day. Katri commented on an entry and we chatted shortly there. 10 minutes after that she was at our door (it was about 1 or 2pm) and she left at 9pm that evening.
At the Stockholm cruise, I had a great discussion with Suvi about school motivation.
Before Laura left to Korea, I went to see her and we talked about how some people can just start from where they were left, when they meet again. I like that thought. It's just human to not always have the energy to see and talk to everyone. Time and energy sources are limited. (Of course, there's sometimes also laziness included.)
I called Siru just yesterday for nothing special at all. We chatted for a while and I ended up smiling by myself in the train. Then Miika sent me a message saying something like hi for no good reason!
Today I sent mom an email about all the money arrangements and such. She sent me something back very shortly and in the end she wrote: "I miss you". Instant smile on my face.
Laura is lending me her storage space for a full year. I'm worried to use her space, because I'm sure she would use it herself too. I'm so grateful of it since this way we don't have to take all my stuff to Raisio (and then back again the next year).
Then there's Yolanda dancing with me with full speed. Julio dancing salsa and his nice voice. Remon: "We've discussed it with Frank that you're a kulta! That means a sweetheart, right?" Going to Mental Wear shop with Kimmo and Siru. Robert trying to make me smile during my horrible sleepy-day and trying to manage at the same time teach foreigners finnish. And Iain with his scottish accent and sense of humour.
"naaa no limits but u wouldnt understand and be able 2 cope as well as i can with finnish :p"
"come on. when you get wrecked, i pull asses. and you say i couldn't cope with what exactly?"
"Lol wait if i get wrecked ul pull an ass?"
It's good to leave for knowing that
I cannot remember many days of unhappiness.
23 days until leaving the country. 16 days until I move away from Vantaa.

Appartemento con Anna,
It is very hard to divide the time left as equally and satisfyingly between everyone. These new exchange students are totally distroying my system of time dividing.
All together, I'm very excited to go to Italy. Everything is starting to be ready for going. Appartment is ready for me and waiting. The whole finding it was a process in itself. There was many complications and such during the search but in the end, all thanks going to Anna, I found a great place 3-4 minutes bike ride away from the center of Padova. Or at least based on what I know now, it seems like a great place. The only thing I don't understand in it is that why would someone want a mottled floor anywhere. I mean seriously mottled. All around the house there is a floor made of stone I think. It looks like black-white-dark green marble but isn't. And making it even more mottled is that the stones is in pieces, so that the already mottled material looks even more mottled when it is in little pieces around the house. Mottled or not - I'm happy with the result I got.
In the building, I'm living with Anna in one double room. In the other double room, there is going to be living two other unknown girls. At the moment, two italian girls are interested, who have been to exchange somewhere. There is also a little kitchen. It is surprisingly small to be in an italian house. The first one I saw pictures had a huge kitchen. Bigger than the bedrooms together. But I think there is all the space we need for cooking and baking. Outside the kitchen, there is a living room with sofa and tv-corner, dining-table and some cupboard room. In the end of the hallway, which starts from the door, is the bathroom. If I saw right and understood what I saw, there is two toiletseats in the bathroom... that's interesting I think. Or maybe it was a sink? But it was in the same level and looking the same as the toilet. On the sides, from the bathroom doorway, there is entrances to both of the double rooms. There's desks, chairs and shelves for everyone.
All together the house looked a bit dirty in the pictures, but there is or was living 4 boys, so that might explain something. I think we can do a lot to make the appartment look good with the help of a near-by IKEA!
The nicest part is that there is a nice guestroom for visitors. Unfortunately with only one bed, but there is lots of room for more than one person. That means that you can come visit me!
The house is a villa so there is a garden in front of it. The most interesting part of the arrangement is this. The owner, Franca's, mother lives in the same building. So as we entry the house from the side, she entries it in the front. So she lives in the same building but the appartments are clearly seperated. The garden is basicly on her side of the house, but I'm still hoping we can use it too! There is also a place for bicycles and a car.

Now it's time for a thank you and an introduction. Anna, who made all this possible, is 23 years old and studies art history in the Uni of Padova. She's originally from Brescia, which is quite near to lake Garda. I got to know her when I found her ad for an Erasmus student to share a room with her in another appartment. After I replied her many things have happened.
The owner of the place where I applied first had some problems of getting me a lease contract, so as Anna got another interested SMS from a Norwegian girl, Silje, she started to look for other options. First option was a place near the river, but as she went to see her, the place was very small and some stairs where even a bit dangerous. The location would've been ideal, but the condition wasn't. So the owner, Franca, had another house for her to see. The villa in via Montà which we decided to take :)
And now, in the weekend, when I pay for a deposit, the place is reserved for me. Anna and I will share a room facing the garden<3
As scared as I'm for sharing a room with an italian girl, I'm also very excited to see how it works. So far, I haven't had a flatmate who has really been on the same level as I'm. Now I'm going to share a room, not just the appartment, with someone. Finns have the tend to need space around themselves, so I'm also worried for that. But that's a challenge too.
Another problem at first was that Franca wanted the rents paid every 6 months. As the rent is now 180 euros, the 6 month price is 1080 euros. That is not a problem as that is how it goes still, but the way she wanted it to paid was. She wanted a check for the first 6 months as I arrived and check for the last 6 months dated for 1st of January 2008. In Finland, checks are used very very very seldom, if ever. I've only got checks for a present in my graduation party. So the problem would've been that the checks need to be paid in advance and here there is no dating system as to not getting the checks dated for an exact date. When you get them, they can be cashed straight away. The problem was solved as Franca agreed to get the payment straight to her account. This way I don't have to pay the whole years rent at once. And yes, I'm there only 10 months and I can only get appartments for 12 months. It's funny. Italians *sneers*
So now there is only signing up for the courses, moving out from Vantaa and packing left to do. I still need a suitcase and some boxes for packing my things but everything else is about ready. Yeah, I have some school things still undone. 3 exams and 3+1 essays to write and one excercise to do. Most of the exams are very hard to do but.. let's see. I'll manage everything. I also got 3 more shifts to do at work. (Someone had just quit there last week and they were calling me 2 times a day asking if I could go that evening!)

There is also a place for bicycles and a car.

ground plan of the house (made by Anna)
